Where is Your Focus?

Last month there was a blue moon.  Something that I had to look up the meaning to as I was expecting to see a Blue Moon when I looked out my window.  Nope - it means that there are 2 full moons in one month which doesn't happen very often and that's where we get the saying "once in a blue moon" from.

What is amazing, is the power of a full moon - and we experienced that twice in July.  A full moon is 8 to 10 times more powerful than a half moon.  Similarly, when you give something your full attention you will be eight to ten times more productive than if you have multiple tasks going on at once.  Imagine the results that you could experience in less time with that focused attention.

So why can it be so hard to focus?  Part of it is, we have so many things vying for our attention.  But the real reason is our paradigms or habits.  We create habits around multi-tasking, habits of getting distracted, and we form habits of working on menial tasks before the tasks that would really move us forward.  A lot of times this is done out of fear - in some cases fear of failure and in other cases fear of success.  Just like creating any new habit, get in the habit of focusing your attention, schedule your day and give priority to the needle-movers; the tasks that will bring you closer to your goals.

As you look at your day today, what will you give your full attention to that will absolutely move you closer to a life you would love living?  Schedule that activity and then do it.  Take action and then celebrate.

Make it a focused day,
