We shot this week’s video as we were on a hike on Vancouver Island in the rainforest. In the video, I had to cross over a suspension bridge – I don’t like it. It’s not comfortable for me. But, it’s a great analogy when we’re following our dreams, right? We leave the comfort of the life we’ve known and we want to get to the other side which is our dream or vision, and there’s a gap in between, which needs to be crossed!
It’s much easier when we have a bridge, this is the coaching, mentorship, and structures of support.
Highly Successful People are willing to be uncomfortable for the sake of growth.
And yet, we find ourself in the middle of the suspension bridge, where it’s a little wobbly, uncomfortable, sometimes scary, and it can feel like a long ways down.
It’s essential as we’re building our dreams to dare to cross the bridge, and dare to be a little uncomfortable. Highly Successful People are willing to be uncomfortable for the sake of growth. The more we’re willing to step out in fear, in the discomfort, it does get easier every time, but know that this is the gap.
So crossing the suspension bridge over the gap feels wobbly and insecure, but trust the process. It will take us all the way to the other side, all the way to our dreams, and we’re gonna go see some beautiful views on the other side.
Today’s topic on YouTube
After the hike, I reflected. The tide was high and the waves were crashing. It was absolutely beautiful with the sun shining on the waves, with a few waterfalls right off of the beach, which were absolutely stunning, and well worth crossing that bridge for.
There are so many lessons and analogies watching those waves, and even though they look maybe a little intimidating as they roll in strong and seemingly randomly, there is perfection in that, and in the way that the tide comes in and the tide goes out. There’s so many beautiful perfections in nature.
I think sometimes when the waves are rolling in our own lives and it feels like things are out of control, just trusting the process that the experience serves a purpose as well.
It was so nice to cross that bridge and to do it afraid, because what was on the other side of it was certainly worth it. We got to experience the ocean, and I also got to experience it with my daughter as it was her first time seeing the Pacific Ocean.
So what’s the bridge that it’s time for you to cross in your life?
Maybe you’re right in that middle of the bridge, where you’re feeling a little uneasy or unsteady, and you’re not sure you’re on the right path.
Trust that what’s on the other side is absolutely worth it. Keep your eye on the prize, which is in this case your vision. What would you love to create?
Keep focused, keep taking those steps. Remember that sometimes in the middle of the process, it can feel a little turbulent or wobbly, but trust that you are in the right and perfect place.
Here is to you living a life you love,
