Just because this life may have fed you for many years, and maybe you loved what you were doing, it doesn't mean it's too late to rediscover new passions, new purposes.

Contrary to popular belief, your purpose is not something that’s predetermined, something that you have no control over.
Your purpose is revealed to you all sorts of different ways. If you can imagine, life is constantly seeking greater expression through you. Your purpose today may be different than it was 10 years ago. It evolves, it changes, you evolve, you change.
The question really becomes, am I in love with my results? Am I in love with my life right now?
Just because this life may have fed you for many years, and maybe you loved what you were doing, it doesn’t mean it’s too late to rediscover new passions, new purposes. You’re never too old. As long as you’re breathing, life is seeking greater expression through you. So how do you discover what that purpose is?
Here are some ways to discover your purpose.
Just because this life may have fed you for many years, and maybe you loved what you were doing, it doesn't mean it's too late to rediscover new passions, new purposes.
There’s a few areas you can look at that will reveal to you what’s important to you, and what’s your unique purpose.
One of them is to pay attention to your core values. Your core values act like a lighthouse. They’re the things in life that are most important to you. It may be contribution, being in service, maybe community or family, or maybe adventure and travel.
What are your core values? When you get to the end of life, what’s really going to have mattered to you? Your core values are a good indicator in helping you get clear on your purpose.
The other thing to look at is your assets, your skills, and your talents.
Be careful here, because sometimes we think just because I’m good at something means I should do it.
You want to look at the assets and the skills that you have, and make sure that you enjoy them and that they give you life.
Just because you’re good at something doesn’t mean it’s your purpose, but ask yourself, what am I good at? What are my skills, what are those assets that really light me up?
You may not know how to turn those into a purpose or a revenue stream right now. However, at this stage in discovering your purpose, we’re putting that on hold and we’re just honouring and recognizing what gives you life.

The third thing to look at to help you discover that purpose is to look to your history and think about the times where you were happiest.
What books are you reading? What magazines are you drawn to? What are you searching when you’re spending time on the internet? What are your interests? What are your hobbies? What are those conversations that you just lean into and they fill you up?
What lights you up?
And the final piece around discovering your purpose is think about your legacy. When you lay your head down on the pillow for the very last time, and you’re thinking back on your life, what contribution do you want to have made? How do you want to have shown up in your life, for your family, for your friends, the places you visited.
Looking at your legacy piece and the life that you want to have lived on your deathbed is a powerful way to inform you about what your passions are and what your purpose is.
