How do you keep the momentum of your dream going when at the same time you’re feeling like you need a rest? This was a question that came in from this community, “I’ve got this great momentum going, I’m feeling really good with my vision, and I feel like I need a break or a rest, but I don’t want to lose the momentum.”
Has this ever happened to you? Where maybe you get sick, you go on a vacation, and it feels like all momentum has slowed? This is really the principle of inertia. Things at rest stay at rest, and things in motion stay in motion.
How do we stay in motion on our dream but at the same time honouring that part of us that needs to rest?

I don’t believe that it has to be an “either/or” here. So you’re either “go go go” on your vision, OR you’re resting. There can be a “both, and”.
The reality is we do need to rest. We’re in these physical bodies with rhythms that we need to honour. This is why we have Sabbath, this is why there’s the day of rest, usually on a Sunday in a lot of the faiths.
Our bodies need rest, rejuvenation, relaxation. It’s why we need our sleep. Sleep is such an important part of manifestation and the rhythm of our bodies. When we’re sleeping, we rest, we rejuvenate, we rebuild.
Let’s honour the fact that we need rest, we need vacations, we need time away.
Bob Proctor, one of the mentors that I had for many, many years, said we slow down to speed up. The key is slowing down at the right time so that we can speed up.
Today’s topic on YouTube
I think it’s really important to honour and acknowledge your own rhythm. Some of us work much better in the morning, some of us work better in the afternoon. Some of us can function off of six hours of sleep, some people need eight or ten hours of sleep.
Listening to your own body rhythm of what you need for rest and relaxation is really key. Tuning in to when your body’s telling you that it’s time to take a break, and paying attention to what I know from my own rhythm. Do you love to have your evenings and my weekends off, where you function much better when you’ve got that type of rhythm going?
What is your Rhythm? What do you need?
Something that I know for myself, I love having something on my calendar quarterly where I’m in a training, and I’m doing something to reinvigorate my passion on my goals and what’s important to me. That’s something that I’ve come to understand, that when I’ve got a quarterly training, I accomplish way more in a year if I don’t do that quarterly training. I find that without it, my passion starts to wane.
So what’s your Rhythm as you’re thinking about your year? Don’t wait until you’re in burnout or exhaustion to take a vacation or a break. Pre-plan for that. And as you’re taking that break, know that Spirit loves fun, as we rest, as we rejuvenate, we slow down so that we can speed up.
So how do we get back to work on a Monday? How do we get back to work after a vacation when we’ve had that rest?
One of the things to keep that momentum going that can be really helpful is to not wait till Monday morning to you figure out what you’re going to do that day.
Have your plan in place so that when you wake up and you’re going into that day of return, it’s already pre-planned. You’re not waking up and saying, “I don’t really feel like doing it”, or “What should I do today?” Having a pre-plan will help you fully relax because you know what you’re coming back to, and it’ll also help to keep that momentum going.
So how do you keep the momentum going when you need a rest? Plan for the rest, get to know your body, what you need plan for, take advantage of it, and know that it’s really important to slow down so that you can speed up. And to speed up again, have a plan in place so you know what the next step is before you get there.
I hope this is helpful for you. If it is, I would love to know, what’s your rhythm? Tell me in the comments what works for you to really have that balance of moving towards your goals but also giving yourself that break.
Here is to you living a life you love,
