A question that I get asked often is “How do I know when it’s time to quit on an idea, on a dream, on a project?”
I think it’s a great question, and there are some very specific things that you want to make sure you take into account when you’re making that really important decision.
First, consider that you never want to give up on a dream, an idea, or a project when you’re in a place of fear, doubt, worry, overwhelm, or criticism. When you give up, or when you’re in that contractive energy, it will never lead to your highest potential.
Or, have you experienced failure? Failure is part of success and part of succeeding. There’s always going to be failures on the way to your dream.
Sometimes when we are trying to make that decision, we often go to the land of logic. We want to weigh the pros and cons, we want to ask our friends and family, but the person you really want to check in with is yourself – that Self with a capital S.
So when you’re making that decision, you’ll want to make sure that you’re doing that from an expansive state. Go back to your vision, go back to that moment where you first decided to take action on this. Connect back to that why, and from that energy, ask this really powerful question, “If this dream is for me, then increase my passion for it. And if it’s not, redirect me.”
What that does is it connects you back to your vision and to your intuition – and we’re asking the universe to guide us. As you ask that question and you stay inside that question, watch what happens in your life. Watch if your enthusiasm starts to return for that project, or for other opportunities that come up.
Remember that you’ve never gone too far where you can’t change your mind. Changing your mind is ok, but doing it from an expansive state is the most important piece.
So to summarize, connect back to your vision and your why, ask “if this is for me, increase my passion for it, if not, redirect me” and then pay attention to what happens in your life.
