We are all beginners at one time and just like Einstein had to learn his numbers, and like Shakespeare at one time didn't know his ABCs, it's okay that you don't know how to do something.

Consider this for a moment. Einstein needed to learn how to count to ten. Shakespeare needed to learn his ABCs and how to write.
We’ve all had to learn how to walk and how to function in this world; we are beings that are meant to learn.
Why am I sharing that with you today? Because here we are in September, and it’s back to school season!
For those Moms and Dads out there, your kids are going back to school, it’s this energy of returning back to normal, back to routine.
And for all of us, it’s a time to really check in with ourselves and ask “What am I learning?”
We are all beginners at one time and just like Einstein had to learn his numbers, and like Shakespeare at one time didn't know his ABCs, it's okay that you don't know how to do something.
We are meant to continue, to learn, to grow, to develop ourselves at any age. And in fact, science has shown that the more we’re challenging ourselves to learn new things, it increases our brain power and our neuroplasticity. Learning is extremely important.
Here we are in September – what are you learning? How are you sending yourself back to school?
I started off with Einstein and Shakespeare because often we think “I’m too old to learn that.” We find ourselves in this “I’m not good with technology”, “I’m not creative”, “I don’t know how to do that”, and we block ourselves in thinking that we can’t learn.
I want to give you an affirmation today as we go into this back-to-school season, as you’re looking at the fall and really exploring what new thing you could learn in this next quarter, and to develop this attitude of I can learn anything.
We are all beginners at one time and just like Einstein had to learn his numbers, and like Shakespeare at one time didn’t know his ABCs, it’s okay that you don’t know how to do something.
The important thing is that you adopt this attitude of a learner. An affirmation you can use is,
“I am a lifelong learner. I can learn anything, especially when it is important to me.”

And so I want to give you an affirmation today as we go into this back-to-school season, as you’re looking at the fall and really exploring what new thing could you learn in this next quarter, and to develop this attitude of I can learn anything. That we were all beginners at one time and just like Einstein had to learn his numbers, just like Shakespeare at one time didn’t know his ABCs, it’s okay that you don’t know how to do something. The important thing is that you adopt this attitude of a learner. That I am a lifelong learner. And I can learn anything, especially when it becomes really important to you.
So for the Moms, Dads, Grandparents, and caregivers, I hope that your back-to-school season and back-to-school return goes really well, and to remember not to exclude yourself from this time!
It’s a great time in the fall to really make a commitment to learn something new. You’ll be so glad that you did.
Here is to you living a life you love,
