Here’s how you open up your schedule and still get everything done. Have you ever told yourself “I’m not good with time”, “If only I had more time”, “I need to take some time management classes”, or “I need to time block/learn to prioritize”? While these strategies are really important, if we don’t shift our mindset around time, they actually don’t matter.
In order to open up your schedule and still get everything done, we have to change our mindset and how we relate to time. I had a client that when we started to work together, she never had enough time. She was so busy, there was no time to travel, there was no time for self-care, she could barely keep up to her workload and she even decreased the number of clients she was serving. And she thought that was the answer to open up more time, but she still found herself in the same pattern. And this is fundamentally true for all of us. If we don’t change our story and our mindset around time, we will keep repeating the same patterns. Our calendar will fill itself up with other activities and will keep feeling like there’s not enough time.
To open up your schedule and get everything done, it requires a shift in your mindset around time. Here are three ways to do that!
In order to open up your schedule and still get everything done, we have to change our mindset and how we relate to time.
The first place to start shifting your mindset is first of all to have a clear vision about what you want to do with your time. “I’m too busy, I’m too busy, I’m too busy” keeps creating busyness.
So imagine, if you did have more than enough time, what would be on your calendar this year? What would you be doing in the evenings and the weekends? How would you feel at the end of the day? Highly successful people start with the end in mind. Having a vision for the results that you want to create will prevent you from perpetuating the same patterns that are no longer serving you. So what would you love with your time? What would you love with your calendar? Have a clear vision.

Part of creating more time is also scheduling fun! It’s so easy to say I’ll do self-care, I’ll have fun, I’ll play, I’ll vacation when I have the time. The truth is, if you’re waiting till you have the time, you’re never going to have the time. We have to plan for fun.
If you think about it, Spirit loves fun. We’re meant to play. We’re meant to have fun. And the more that you schedule things that are life-giving to you, whether it’s a walk in nature, if it’s an evening out with your girlfriends, a golf game, whatever brings you joy! What happens is when we have more fun in our life, more play in real life, it relaxes us. We’re on a higher vibration. It’s not uncommon for my clients to say, “I went on vacation and my business grew while I was gone!” Because we’re more relaxed, we’re in a better state of mind.
Bob Proctor used to say “I slow down to speed up.” Fun and play are key ingredients to opening up your calendar.
The third place to start to open up your mindset around time is the power of your words. Notice when you’re saying, “I’m so busy, there’s not enough time, it’s go-go-go, I’m meeting everybody else’s demands, I don’t have time for me.” Your words create your world.
We have to shift our energy and our relationship with time in order to expand our time.
So next time somebody says, “Hey how are you doing?” Notice you when you want to just say, “I’m so busy.” Instead say, “My life is full with amazing things,” or “I’ve got some really exciting things on the go!” When you’re saying “I don’t have enough time,” we’re saying there’s a lack of. Start shifting your thoughts to there’s more than enough time. Time expands for me. I get everything done in an easy and relaxed manner. Shifting your relationship with time through your words and your thoughts will shift your reality and your calendar.
So if you’re feeling like you don’t have enough time, have a clear vision of what you would love for your time on the calendar. Number two, schedule fun and play. Remember we slow down to speed up. Number three, be mindful of your words. How are you talking about time? Start speaking about time from a more expansive place, and as you do those things, watch what happens for you.
